The Shaeffer Family

A look into all that god is doing in the Shaeffer family.

Most of you know that Michael and I have been in a big waiting phase of our life. Michael graduated in May and we have been waiting for God to show us where He wanted us to go next. In our minds (well at least mine) All of this was going to happen quickly. Then we were given notice that we had to be out of seminary housing by June 30th. This really stressed me out. I thought that meant Michael had to have a job by the end of June. Needless to say that didn’t happen and that is when we moved into this “oh so lovely” apartment. (Yes, that was sarcasm)

Well, a few weeks ago Michael started talking to a church in College Station, Texas. Everything about this church seemed perfect for us. It was exactly the kind of position he was looking for, the size we wanted, the kind of town we were interested in, and their time table met ours. We just kept diligently praying that God would show us where HE wanted us to be not just where we desired to be. Well we went to visit the church last weekend (It was everything we had hoped for and more. The people are AMAZING) and this week they offered Michael the job and he accepted. We wanted to get there soon and they wanted someone ASAP so we are leaving Louisville in a little over a week.

We are driving down to Memphis on Wednesday the 27th and staying the weekend for my baby shower, that is being thrown by the very best friends in the whole wide world, and then on Labor Day we’re going to head down to College Station. We don’t have a place to live yet but we are working on that this week. I have complete faith that it will work out.

So to sum everything up, thank you so much to all of you who have prayed with us during this waiting time and please continue to pray for our family as we make this big and exciting transition!
