Brother Embroidery and Sewing SE-350
I’ve never been a sewer. In fact, it is something that I had tried several times and just didn’t have the patience for. Well, I mentioned this a few posts ago but recently my mother-in-law introduced me to quilting. We bought a patchwork pattern fabric from Hobby Lobby and she taught me how to quilt it by hand. I LOVED it. I have made 4 baby quilts since. I have really enjoyed it and decided that I was ready to go to the next level and make my own quilt-top that I would then quilt together by hand. I knew that I wouldn’t have the patience to make a topper by hand so I asked for a sewing machine for my birthday. I figured it was a long shot that I would get it, but I wanted to go ahead and plant the idea in hopes of getting a machine eventually for Christmas. Well my amazingly generous parents surprised me and in my birthday card there was a picture of my machine saying that it would be arriving in a few weeks. I couldn’t believe it! Well, It finally arrived today! i have been having so much fun. I have no idea what I am doing, I’ve never even really used a sewing machine and this thing does SO MUCH!!!! The one I picked is a sewing/embroidery machine. I haven’t even started reading about the embroidery yet, it’s a little too overwhelming. I need to find someone that can just explain it to me so I don’t have to read the big instruction manual. Right now I’m just going to focus on making my first topper. Then once I do that I’m going to move onto the embroidery. Eventually I would like to try and make some other things. I would like to do curtains or other home accesseries someday. If the Lord ever blesses us with a little girl I am going to HAVE to make her some cute dresses as well! So, if anyone wants to share some sewing wisdom I would greatly appreciate it.
Haven’t got much sewing wisdom to share with you but will say that I’m just dying to get an embroidery machine! Have fun with it!
You and I need to get together with our machines!! I have one in a box (has been for 5 years) and I really want to start using it again. It sounds like we would be starting from the same place skill wise!!
